Crowdfunding is an alternative way of getting the public to fund your project. The idea behind crowdfunding is that, when added together, the small efforts of many ("the crowd) can make great projects come to life! But be careful, there’s crowdfunding and there’s crowdfunding...
There are 4 types of crowdfunding:
*Donation crowdfunding: the public gives funds without expecting anything in return.
*Reward crowdfunding: the public provides funds in exchange for non-financial rewards, such as an object or service for instance.
*Lending crowdfunding: the public becomes a creditor (i.e., owner of the debt) of the company and expects that the amount lent will be repaid with interest.
*Equity crowdfunding: the funder becomes a shareholder of the company.
Ulule applies reward crowdfunding.
Ulule is the largest player in the crowdfunding field in Europe. Since its launch in October 2010, Ulule has financed tens of thousands of projects thanks to more than 2 700 000 users worldwide! In a nutshell, Ulule is a great partner thanks to a huge community, solid crowdfunding experience and its genuine, hands-on support to project leaders.
Once a project is submitted to Ulule, it’s systematically analysed by experts, who are always available to answer your questions. They will help you to improve your campaign page, description, will show you how to showcase the strengths of your project, how to define rewards… before the project goes online. You won’t have to spend a penny to put your campaign together or for the personalised advice and support of your coaches. You will only be charged a Ulule commission fee once your project reaches its financial goal. And if it doesn’t, you won’t be asked to pay a penny!
You've got it in one. On Ulule, every crowdfunding campaign must reach 100% of its financial goal before you earn any money. This is known as the "all-or-nothing" principle. Because at the end of the day, Ulule's reason for being is the realization of your projects and dreams!
People who fund your project will receive a non-financial reward in return. This reward – usually a service or an object – is generally proportional to the amount of the contribution. But funders can also choose not to receive anything. Be careful though, as contributors will only receive their reward if the project supported reaches its financial goal. If not, they will be automatically reimbursed.
No. To be eligible, a project with Ulule must:
*be entrepreneurial, creative or solidarity-based;
*have a collective scope, which means that it must benefit people other than the project owner. For example, you cannot finance the renovation of your house with Ulule, but it can be refurbished if you want to open a nursery…;
*lead to a concrete realization.
While some platforms will accept every project submitted regardless of quality or feasibility, Ulule focuses on balance. Each project is examined by a Ulule project manager who ensures that it meets the platform's eligibility criteria, verifies its credibility and that of the project leader.
